With just a couple of days remaining until the month-long winter transfer window opens for trading, one of the movers could well be FC Porto centre back Eliaquim Mangala, after the once-capped France international revealed how the Premier League is 'beautiful'.
This, on top of recent revelations from the Portuguese club that a potential £42m bid would be enough to trigger a release clause in his contract, could be news that interests a number of clubs in England already keeping an eye on the player such as Manchester City (Daily Mirror), Manchester United (Daily Star) and Chelsea (Metro).
In L'Equipe, Mangala - who has experience winning domestic titles thanks to a Belgian Pro League winners medal with Standard Liege arriving before a brace of Primeira Liga titles with Porto is quoted to have said recently that: 'The Premier League - it is no secret… to me it is the most beautiful league in the world.
'Whatever the opponent, you know it will be a fight. The game is intense, it is fast, and everyone is giving his very best.'
Mangala, 22-years-old, completed seven tackles, six interceptions and 25 clearances from 538 minutes of Champions League competition this season.
