AS Monaco, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim stars all feature.
Chelsea have been linked with plenty of world class players this week, with Jose Mourinho likely to strengthen his side next month as he prepares for the second half of the season.
The Blues are in a good position in the Premier League and they have proven they have got what it takes to battle through to the latter stages of the Champions League with a core of very good players.
There aren’t too many major changes Mourinho needs to make to his squad but that hasn’t stopped a lot of players being linked with the side this week. Here are five of the best.
1) Radamel Falcao (AS Monaco)
Falcao is a player who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the past.
He’s thought to be a little unhappy with life in Ligue One, which has prompted the suggestion of a potential £45 million bid from the West London side.
Chelsea do need some extra firepower up front and Falcao is the sort of marquee signing who could fire the Blues to the Premier League title by the end of the season.
2) Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund)
Chelsea keep getting mentioned whenever a Robert Lewandowski story has popped up and this week has been no different.
The Blues remain right in the mix to get the Pole according to reports this week despite the fact that a Bayern Munich move next summer looks like the most obvious and logical conclusion to the saga.
3) Fredy Guarin (Inter Milan)
Some sources this week claimed that a £15 million deal had been agreed for the versatile Inter Milan man.
However, that’s turned out not to be the case but it hasn’t prevented further stories suggesting Guarin as a good January reinforcement for the Blues.
It’s a bizarre one to understand for many Chelsea fans considering there are so many good midfield players in the current squad.
4) Andrea Ranocchia (Inter Milan)
Another player Chelsea have been linked with strongly this week is defender Andrea Ranocchia.
It seems that David Luiz’ unpredictability has forced Jose Mourinho into looking for another defender ahead of the January transfer window and the 25-year-old is apparently the player that the Blues will go after.
Various reports this month have suggested a fee of anywhere between €12.5-19 million.
5) Kevin Volland (Hoffenheim)
News broke at the start of this week that several Premier League sides were looking at £12 million rated Kevin Volland.
