Transfer talk: Featuring Aspas, Ameobi and Luiz

Transfer news from Newcastle United, Stoke City, Hull City, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Celtic.

Manchester United and Manchester City are said to be in the hunt for the same player. Argentine defensive midfielder Bruno Zuculini of Racing Club has been linked today. The 20-year-old is expected to join Pellegrini at City, although United are said to be keen.

It is believed he will join for a £1.5 million fee.

Hull City are being linked with attackers this morning. Steve Bruce has guided his Tigers side to a promising start to the season but still feels reinforcements are needed in order to secure Premier League football.

Today it is Shola Ameobi of Newcastle United and Jordan Ayew of Marseille - the latter being linked with a £3.5 million move to the KC Stadium.

Stoke City are reportedly after Luuk de Jong. The Dutch international has lost his place at Borussia Monchengladbach and has not started a single game for the Bundesliga outfit this campaign.

He wants first-team football to assure him of a place in the Dutch national team next summer and The Potters are now set to join PSV Eindhoven in his pursuit.

Danny Ings, who has been linked with Liverpool, is also being targeted by Celtic. Neil Lennon reportedly wants to buy British talent and recently missed out on Huddersfield striker James Vaughan.

Despite previous reports that Barcelona were not after David Luiz it is now being reported, that they are.

Barca need to strengthen their defence and are looking at the Brazilian - who has fell out of favour with Jose Mourinho.

The deal however would be worth a whopping £29 million - but his swashbuckling defensive style suits the play used at the Nou Camp.

An apparent loan deal for Iago Aspas has already fallen apart according to the press today. Liverpool were ready to give the summer signing a chance for first-team football in Spain - after struggling since his Anfield arrival.

Valencia and Real Betis have been linked with a move but injury problems seem to have put an end to that possibility.
