Manchester United have had multiple chances to attain a lead against Shakhtar Donetsk at Old Trafford in their final Champions League group game this evening, Tuesday, December 10 but, through Ashley Young, have mostly squandered their shots on goal.
Sky Sports analyst and former Red Devil Roy Keane claimed that, instead of a team, David Moyes is overseeing a group of individuals, but that has not deterred those at the Theatre of Dreams from cheering on their side.
The fans at home, meanwhile, took to Twitter after finding delight in the other match that had English interest… as, within 12 minutes of play in Germany, Bayern Munich had taken a 2-0 lead at the expense of United's local rivals Manchester City.
The first goal arrived from Thomas Muller who converted after receiving a long aerial ball, while Mario Gotze added a second after some particularly disastrous defending from the away team.
David Silva has, thus far, managed to save City's blushes by getting one goal back and it currently stands 2-1.
Who will get the last laugh between the rival Manchester clubs?
Things I like almost as much as watching #MUFC win: watching City get crushed; not seeing Liverpool in CL at all.— Charlie Gleek (@games_frontiers) December 10, 2013
It's funny that City are getting torn apart by Bayern Munich. Already 2-0 there #mufc— Manchester United (@MUFC_today) December 10, 2013
