Liverpool latest: Including Allen and Reina

Some of the key stories involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday evening.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina may not be on his way back to Anfield but there are several clubs interested in securing his services.

Reina, currently on loan at Napoli, is attracting the interest of Premier League leaders Arsenal according to Mundo Deportivo along with La Liga side Atletico Madrid and Serie A’s Inter Milan.

Midfielder Joe Allen has told the club’s website that he has put the nightmare Merseyside derby miss behind him, a chance which ended up being a crucial moment in the game.

Allen has since played two games in the Premier League against Norwich City and West Ham United and has been impressive.

The Welshman said: ‘I moved on straight away and got back to working hard, looking for the next opportunity to come.

‘Obviously I had the chance to start against Norwich, which was the first start I’ve had at Anfield in the league for almost a year. So it was great to be back out there and be part of a winning performance.’

Former Liverpool Academy director Frank McParland has been appointed the new sporting director of League One side Brentford.

McParland was recently sacked along with Rodolfo Borrell at the Liverpool’s academy.

There are two fixture changes for Liverpool in February because they are being televised. The Reds trip to West Brom has been moved to Sunday 2nd February and will kick off at 1:30pm and will be broadcast on Sky Sports whilst their big clash with Arsenal on Saturday 8th February will kick off at 12:45 and be broadcast on BT Sport.
