Confirmed: Napoli 20-man squad for Arsenal game - £35m star misses out

Arsenal's Champions League opponents Napoli have confirmed their squad for the visit of the Gunners.

The news Arsenal were hoping for has been confirmed, Marek Hamsik will miss the fixture tomorrow night.

Hamsik - rated at £35 million - has scored six times in nine Serie A starts for Rafa Benitez' side this season and is crucial to them, but has missed the past two games with a toe injury.

Napoli have confirmed their squad for the match at the San Paolo, with Hamsik not involved - although dangerman Gonzalo Higuain does feature.

The squad is as follows:

Reina, Rafael, Colombo; Albiol, Armero, Britos, Cannavaro, Fernandez, Uvini; Behrami, Dzemaili, Maggio, Inler, Radosevic, Callejon; Duvan,Higuain, Insigne, Mertens, Pandev.

Former Premier League faces include Liverpool loanee Pepe Reina and ex-West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami.

Defender Bruno Uvini was at one point close to signing for Tottenham Hotspur until the club backed out of the deal, although he is not expected to start tomorrow.

Captain Paolo Cannavaro is named despite his agent publicly criticising Rafa Benitez last night, with the defender left on the bench in recent games.

The previous match was a 2-0 win for Braga in Portugal in the Champions League group stages in November 2010.

Over the course of those games he has awarded one penalty against Arsenal, and none for them, and booked seven Gunners.

Is there a consolation? Well yes there is actually, Napoli won't be glad to see him either.

Kassai has overseen just one Napoli game, a shock 2-0 loss away at Czech side Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League last season.

So really neither side will be happy to see the 38-year-old; but its an unwelcome omen for Wenger and his men who will remember that 4-0 loss to Milan painfully.

Arsenal and Napoli will both will hope history doesn't repeat itself, and will do what they haven't done previously - avoid a loss with Kassai on the pitch.
