VIDEO: Super Mario's magic free-kick not enough for Milan

AC Milan's misery intensified with a 2-2 draw at Livorno despite a Mario Balotelli brace including a stunning free-kick.

Mario Balotelli was back at his best for AC Milan in their trip to Livorno scoring two goals and rattling the crossbar in a 2-2 draw.

Despite returning to winning ways against Celtic and Catania, the pressure is still on Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri who was managing his 200th game in Serie A in his Tuscan hometown.

The Rossoneri have all but exited the Scudetto race and are in serious danger of missing out on Champions League qualification this season as they are languishing in mid-table.

After some lackluster performances, star striker Balotelli seems to have re-found his scoring touch with goals in the last three games and he was lethal against Livorno.

Balotelli's first couldn't have been much easier, Kaka rolled the ball back for him to blast home from less than six yards after seven minutes.

But then things went wrong for Milan. Livorno made it 1-1 through Luca Siligardi's strike and then Paulinho put them ahead.

It seemed like Milan were headed for another painful defeat but Balotelli saved the day in style.

The ex-Manchester City man hit a majestic free-kick into the top corner and then still had time to thump the underside of the bar in the dying seconds.

Balotelli has been widely linked to Chelsea and could consider a move in the January transfer window as Milan continue to struggle - a performance like this will have done him no harm whatsoever.

There have been repeated rumours that Balotelli will leave Milan, possibly to head to Chelsea where he could link up with former boss Jose Mourinho.

And a cryptic tweet from Balotelli's account this afternoon has caused a flurry of speculation as to his future.

After more than a month of Twitter silence, the Italian international simply posted: 'This is the end :-)'

Whether this is Balotelli foreshadowing the end of his time at Milan remains to be seen, but it has certainly set tongues wagging.

The past week has seen transfer rumours quieten down after Jose Mourinho insisted Balotelli would stay at Milan and Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani has always insisted no move is forthcoming.
