The draw is over. Now everyone knows who they are facing next summer at the World Cup in Brazil. As always experts predicted groups of death and some easy pickings. Sure there is this stat by Opta which revealed that “In major tournaments against Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica, England have played five games and won none.”
But there is also this excitement that everything could happen in a tournament as the Greece national football team proved it in 2004 by winning Euro 2004 and as former reigning World Cup and Euro champions France failed to make the knock out stage at the 2002 World Cup.
Here is how football players reacted on Twitter to the draw.
Arsenal’s winger Lukas Podolski, who is looking forward to his sixth international tournament, started a little live twitter coverage of the draw.

Bale is just watching.
Tough looking group for England but some exciting games to look forward to... Portugal-Germany and Spain-Holland in particular— Gareth Bale (@GarethBale11) December 6, 2013
Arsenal’s young gun Thomas Eisfeld already started with the trash talk.
Giroud seems to think the group games are easy pickings. I think, it looks like 2002 World Cup all over again.
Arsenal’s midfielder Mesut Ozil before the draw…
