Arsenal out-passed and out-gunned a poor Marseille on Tuesday to take their total point haul to 12, yet they still not qualified from Group F…
Arsene Wenger finds Arsenal in an unorthodox position… usually ten points is the magic number that would book a team's progression from the group stage in the Champions League, into the knockout phase, however, the Gunners have accumulated 12 from a possible 15 yet still have it all to do in the final match against Napoli.
'It's unbelievable but it's reality,' summarised Wenger, as reported by the club's official website.
Even a loss could still send Arsenal through to the next round but the club will no doubt harbour intentions on finishing in top spot, so as to make their February match-up as smooth as possible.
'We have to finish the job. It is not an easy situation - it is a tricky situation because you can think 'Okay, let's just not lose big' but I think that would be a mistake. [We need to] go there [to Italy], play in a positive way and try to win the game.'
A number of stars also took to Twitter to comment on the game's outcome…
