Ramsey’s form kills Arsenal's interest in €30 million star

Ilkay Gundogan is at the centre of a transfer tug of war but for Arsenal, their Welsh wizard has already proven himself to be the answer.

The much desired Borussia Dortmund player has been courted by the top teams in Europe, and the Premier League. Despite reaching the dizzy heights of the Champions League final last season, the German club aren't financially strong enough to hold on to their better players when the big money clubs rear their head.

In the past few years they have been targeted by big money clubs for their players and usually end up losing 1 key player a year. In 2011 it was Nuri Sahin to Real Madrid, 2012 Shinji Kagawa to Manchester United and 2013 it was Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich.

The player that now has the sharks circling is German international Ilkay Gundogan. The 23-year-old sensation has been touted as the ‘perfect midfielder’ for a Premier League side due to his style of play.

Borussia Dortmund were forced to publicly refute claims that they had agreed in principle a €30 million deal with Real Madrid for their injured star. They have also mentioned that they plan on extending the players contract, but admitted that discussions had hit a deadlock, leaving speculation at a prime.

The Gunners have been heavily interested in the player in previous transfer windows, and have monitored his progress for many years, but with the January window fast approaching they seem to have distanced themselves from speculation.

The reason is largely due to the form of their welsh wizard Aaron Ramsey.

The 22-year-old has been in outstanding form for Arsenal this season making his critics eat their words, including famous mouth piece Piers Morgan. The American TV star famously tweeted...

Six Premier League and two Champions League goals have pushed the Arsenal star into the limelight as the club's top scorer, but he should be credited just as much for his defensive contribution and creative ability.

The Arsenal midfielder is undoubtedly at this moment in time the best box to box player in the world, putting himself ahead of the Dortmund star and his form looks like it could go on for some time yet.

Therefore, any previous interest in the player will stay in the past as Arsenal look to push on with their unearthed gem.
