Liverpool target 'disappointed' and 'bitter' after latest Bundesliga setback

Liverpool transfer target Ron-Robert Zieler is not very happy following Hannover’s latest result.

Hannover were not able to make the most of home advantage last night as they were forced to endure a 0-0 draw against lowly placed Eintracht Braunschweig.

It’s a match that the home side really should have won as they dominated possession with 54% of the ball, forcing ten shots off target and six shots on target as they were unable to break through the defence of the relegation candidates.

It’s a performance which has not sat well with Liverpool goalkeeper target Ron-Robert Zieler.

“We are disappointed. We played only draw and that is enough. Playful that was too little. This is very bitter. We just stand there with a dot at the end,” the 24-year-old told sky as reported in Bild.

Liverpool have been linked with the talented young German with reports suggesting Brendan Rodgers is keen to add some competition and rivalry for the number one spot at Anfield alongside Simon Mignolet.

Zieler is a very passionate young man, with a desire to play Champions League football and win silverware which makes consistent and impressive performances for Hannover important.

There is a very strong competitive group of teams fighting to get up to the level of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga to qualify for limited European slots.

Liverpool certainly won’t argue if Hannover continue to fail getting results against teams they should comfortably beat, because it puts them in a better position should they want to move for Zieler at the end of the season.

Liverpool will have a goalkeeper position to fill next summer because with Pepe Reina unlikely to stay at the club and with Brad Jones not getting any younger, Rodgers will need a top quality shot stopper to come into the squad.
