Tottenham Hotspur unveiled their latest swipe at rivals Arsenal during their trumping of Sheriff Tiraspol.

Tottenham Hotspur extended their unblemished start in Group K of the Europa League as a 2-1 triumph over Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday, November 8 at White Hart Lane sees them clear leaders with a 12 point return after four games, five points ahead of Anzhi Makhachkala.

A composed finish by Erik Lamela on the hour mark and a Jermain Defoe penalty conversion after Lamela trickery guaranteed the three points in North London, with the latter scoring a club-record 23 strikes in Europe, moving him to an emotional state post-match.

One of the chants to arise from the match was not Spurs’ hot streak in the competition, nor was it Defoe’s historic netting but, rather, a song aimed at their bitter rivals Arsenal over the Gunners’ £42.4m summer signing Mesut Ozil.

Lyrics include: ‘His eyes are offside, his eyes are offside, he’s Mesut Ozil, his eyes are offside.’
