Ancelotti blasts 'disastrous' Real Madrid

The Italian tactician hit out at his side after they only beat Rayo Vallecano 3-2 on Saturday evening.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has conceded that their second half against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday was ‘a disaster’.

The Spanish giants were 3-0 up at Campo de Futbol de Vallecas, thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo double and one goal from Karim Benzema.

But Los Blancos ended up conceding two penalties in two second half minutes to only win the match 3-2 – something the Italian tactician was furious about.

“We need to change - we have to lose our superficiality. The second half was a disaster,” he told reporters.

“Against Sevilla, we were leading 3-0 but we allowed them to get back into contention. The same thing happened tonight and it’s not by coincidence.

“We need to change and lose the superficiality we’re showing out on the pitch. You cannot let the other team back into a game you are winning when you have the quality Madrid has.

“I will talk to the players in private, not here. I’m not happy with what happened.

“Rayo pressurise high up the pitch, that’s what they are good at. We suffered in the second half but not in the first half.

“We should be able to read the game better and hit our opponents on the break. The second half was disastrous.”

Real Madrid are now six points off Barcelona at the top of the table.
