£7m Arsenal and Liverpool target scores 90th minute winner in 'Derby of Eternal Enemies'

Olympiakos beat Panathinaikos in the massive derby match last night ... with Kostas Mitroglou scoring the winner.

A week or so ago Liverpool and Arsenal were heavily linked with Greek striker Kostas Mitroglou - and the form he is in you can understand why.

The centre forward has been scoring goals for fun this season, with a grand total of 16 goals across all competitions including a sensational hat-trick against Anderlecht in the Champions League recently.

In truth, he has been threatening to break through like this for a while now - his form for the Greek under-21 side for instance really caught the eye.

But the German raised striker, who is wanted back in his former home by Borussia Dortmund, it was a loan spell with Atromitos in 2011-12 that really saw him come good - and now he looks like becoming the finished article at Olympiakos after a magnificent turn of form.

But last night we reckon was probably the best goal of his young career yet.

The £25 million forward bagged a last minute winner in what is sometimes described as the most ferocious derby on the continent - dubbed the Derby of Eternal Enemies and the Mother of all Battles, Olympiakos v Panathinaikos.

He battled through on goal before slamming the ball beyond the Panathinaikos goalkeeper to claim their 76th win in this heated and historic derby.

Here is the goal …

Liverpool and Arsenal fans would love to see him do something similar against Everton and Tottenham respectively.
