Iniesta: Barcelona aren't playing badly

The Spain international has dismissed claims that the Liga leaders are not at their best this season.

Andres Iniesta has rejected suggestions that Barcelona played badly against Espanyol on Friday evening.

The Spanish giants beat their city rivals 1-0 last night in the Catalan derby thanks to a second half goal from Alexis Sanchez.

But the midfielder has claimed that his men were both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ in the match at Camp Nou.

“There are matches with good phases and bad phases,” the midfielder told the club’s official website.

“We’re counting nearly all of our games as victories and that should give us confidence to improve and keep on winning games.

“We’re playing just as well as we always have, I don’t have the impression that we’re playing poorly.

“Everything can be improved and we need to keep on growing. We don’t lack intensity or the right attitude.

“We don’t have that problem in this team but at times matches can end up like this one.”
