Conte: We're back on track

Juventus boss Antonio Conte insists that the Old Lady's bad spell is over after a resounding 4-0 win over Catania.

Juventus coach Antonio Conte was in good spirits after his side demolished Catania and claims that defeats against Fiorentina and Real Madrid are forgotten.

Conte was livid with the Italian press for rumours that he had fallen out with Juventus director Beppe Marotta and there were whispers that the ex-Arezzo man was headed for the exit.

A dramatic 4-2 loss to Fiorentina having led 2-0 and an unlucky Champions League reverse at the hands of Real Madrid damaged the Old Lady's season, but they seem to have turned the corner.

Comfortable wins over Genoa and Catania have taken the pressure off Conte and he feels the Bianconeri's season is on course again.

"These two victories are very important," he said after last night's win. "And the manner of the victories is too as we didn't concede in either.

"The whole of the first season we conceded 20, last season it was 22 and this year it's already 10. It's unusual because our defence is our greatest weapon.

"There is room for improvement on these positive performances but it isn't easy playing every three days. Now we have to prepare for Parma."

There was another goal for Argentine marksman Carlos Tevez who hasn't had any problems settling in Serie A since his move from Manchester City.

"When Juventus play they always create a lot of chances," Conte explained. "Sometimes we convert them and sometimes we miss them or are unlucky.

"Carlos is a cool character in the box and when he gets an opportunity he makes the most of it."
