Revealed - What PSG fans think about signing Chelsea's Juan Mata

Paris Saint-Germain fans have voted on which Spanish star they would most like to see join the club next summer and Chelsea’s Juan Mata is on the list.

Regardless of the fact that Juan Mata seems to have settled nicely back into the Chelsea first team, Le 10 Sport is asking PSG fans to vote on which Spanish star they would like to see join the club next summer.

There are four names available to choose from; Juan Mata, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas.

The stand out leader in the poll is Barcelona’s Iniesta with 58% of PSG fans stating they would like their club to go after him over any other Spanish player, reported as available over the last few weeks.

However, Barcelona president Sandro Rosell recently stated that he would bet on Iniesta finishing his career at the Nou Camp, which moves attention onto the next most popular player; Chelsea’s Juan Mata.

Currently 30% of PSG fans would like to see the club sign Mata next summer with some sources still suggesting Chelsea would be willing to do a deal for the playmaker.

However, that seems unlikely because Mata has expressed no desire to leave Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho doesn’t want to sell him and he’s back playing football in the Chelsea first team again.

Mata has been urged to change his game by Mourinho to fit in with the way he wants the Spaniard to play and there has been evidence in recent matches that Mata is starting to do a little bit more than he did under Rafa Benitez.

Mata is pressing higher up the pitch, he’s going in for more challenges, he’s covering for other players when they are out of position and he looks genuinely happy. Sorry PSG but move onto the next name.

Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas share 12% of the vote with reports that Ramos is unhappy at Real Madrid and wants a pay rise and Casillas is growing increasingly discontented playing second fiddle to Diego Lopez.

PSG fans have made their feelings clear but what they can realistically achieve in terms of signings doesn’t go hand in hand with the poll results.
