Liverpool transfer news: Rodgers looks at German wonderkid, deal for Ilori looks unlikely

A round up of the latest transfer stories connected to Liverpool.

Liverpool are one of the clubs tracking the progress of Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Sinan Kurt.

The 17-year-old has been compared in German circles to Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund, one of the most effective creative midfield players in the Bundesliga.

German sources have suggested that his performances have grabbed the interest of several top clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal, PSG and Valencia which could spark a tug of war to sign him.

Liverpool are facing heavy competition from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven over the transfer of Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.

Liverpool have been linked with the 20-year-old for much of the summer but PSV could be set to blow Brendan Rodgers’ side out of the water with a backed third party bid.

Portuguese newspaper Record has suggested that PSV will bid for the player with the financial backing of sports investment group Doyen Sports, after Liverpool failed with a £3 million offer earlier in the summer.

Spanish newspaper Marca has claimed Real Madrid wouldn’t sign striker Luis Suarez even if he ‘begged’ for a move.

Speculation surrounding Suarez’s future rolls on after multiple bids from Arsenal and various links which suggested a move to the Spanish capital was still on the cards.

Liverpool signed Suarez for just over £20 million from Ajax and are looking to net a fee of around the £50-55 million mark if they are forced to let him go this summer.
