Ferdinand and Van Persie taunt Arsenal's famous fan on Twitter

Manchester United pair Rio Ferdinand and Robin van Persie were busy winding up Arsenal fan Piers Morgan on Twitter after their latest Premier League victory.

Was joining Manchester United a mis-steak?

It does not seem like it for Robin van Persie, who is on course to win a Premier League winners medal in his first season at Old Trafford since joining from Arsenal last summer.

He ended his recent goal drought by scoring against Stoke and hugging Sir Alex Ferguson, and after the match dined out with teammate Rio Ferdinand at the defender's Italian restaurant.

And Ferdinand could not resist the photo opportunity to taunt Piers Morgan, who he loves to wind up on the social networking site, with the Arsenal fan vociferous in his abuse of the Arsenal board for cashing in and selling the Dutchman in the summer.

But could the pair be left with the smiles wiped off their faces?

Arsenal host United in a fortnight, with the opportunity there for United to potentially win the title at the Emirates. But this also means the Gunners, who will be fighting for points of their own have a chance to deny them.

If Arsenal do win the match, Piers Morgan and the collective millions of Arsenal fans may just be Tweeting defender Rio Ferdinand celebration messages of their own.

Piers' response: 'Hope you both choke on them', before adding:

Will the pair have the smirks wiped from their faces in a fortnight's time?
