Five budget striker options for Tottenham Hotspur this month

Will Tottenham bring in a striker this month? Will any of this bunch cut it?

No before you shoot us down, we aren't going to propose Daniel Levy picks up Louis Saha on a free again.

But with big-money moves for Leandro Damiao and Alvaro Negredo looking unlikely, and Spurs announcing an annual loss yesterday, here are five cut-price options which would cost no more than £5 million.

And surely snapping up one of these five is better than none, right?

Danny Graham

Swansea City striker Danny Graham is widely regarded to be available, so long as the Swans can bring in a replacement. The striker has been linked with Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle, but Tottenham would be a far more attractive offer for the 27-year-old. He scored 14 goals last season for Swansea and wouldn't need to adjust to the league and would be well capable of chipping in with important goals.

Matej Vydra

Czech striker Matej Vydra is on loan at Championship side Watford from Udinese, and has scored 16 goals already this campaign. The forward looks an excellent prospect, and Spurs would do well to enquire as to whether it is possible to interrupt his loan and sign him up permanently this month. If it is not possible he remains worth a look this summer.

Dieumerci Mbokani

Congolese striker Dieumerci Mbokani is in the form of his life, scoring 15 goals in 15 games for Anderlecht. He is 27 and has previously played for Monaco and Wolfsburg, and earlier this month was mentioned as a potential target for QPR. He would come cheap and offer an unpredictable alternative to Tottenham's attack.

Dorlan Pabon

Colombian striker Pabon was rumoured to be a target for Spurs after impressing in South America in last season's Copa Libertadores, but was snapped up by Parma instead. He has failed to settle in Serie A, and recently spoke about 'having to evaluate his options', and Spurs would do well to enquire about him, whether it be for a loan move or a permanent deal similar to or less than the £3.5 million Parma spent on him.

Kostantinos Mitroglu

Greek international forward Mitroglu, known as 'Kostas', is league leaders Olympiakos' current top scorer, enjoying his best season to date. The 24-year-old has netted 11 goals in all competitions this season, including four in six Champions League matches, including two in two games against Arsenal. The Greek side won't be able to resist an offer of around £5 million, and he is worth consideration.

Would you settle for one of these arriving rather than none? Who do you want to see Spurs sign?
