Or, what to start saving your money for, now.

Time Magazine's list of 25 includes indoor clouds (which you can't buy), a home HIV test (which we hope you never have to buy), a solar powered water distiller (which we hope you only need to buy for recreational use), self-inflating tires (which we all should buy), Wingsuit Racing Suits (which we're sure a number of you are crazy enough to buy), and the Curiosity Rover (which none of you can buy).

All other media outlets (like us) have made their lists from Time's list, and all are in agreement: one of the most exciting inventions of 2012 is Google Glass. So that we don't get an important detail wrong, here's what Time has to say:

Glass is, simply put, a computer built into the frame of a pair of glasses, and it’s the device that will make augmented reality part of our daily lives. With the half-inch (1.3 cm) display, which comes into focus when you look up and to the right, users will be able to take and share photos, video-chat, check appointments and access maps and the Web. Consumers should be able to buy Google Glass by 2014.

Personally, we're looking forward to the LiquiGlide bottle which will make it easier to get Heinz ketchup out of the bottle.
