Manchester United midfielder Anderson is set to start in the Premier League match against West Ham United. Anderson has been in and out of the side all season but some recent good form has seen him have more of a say in first team proceedings and he is in line to start with Paul Scholes having a rest.

Manchester United player Tom Cleverley has ended speculation over his future at the club. Cleverley has agreed a new five-year contract with United in principle which means recent reports suggesting he could move away from the club have been fabricated.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt in the morning’s papers. It is thought United could be eyeing up the QPR star as a possible replacement for Nani who continues to have problems getting into the first team at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Everton left back Leighton Baines. Reports suggested that United were trying to sign Baines over the summer with fresh reports suggesting that United will pay Everton around £15 million for the player this January.

The agent of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman has officially confirmed interest from Manchester United. The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a number of weeks with his agent finally confirming that contact has been made between the two clubs.

Reports from the Italian media are suggesting that Manchester United could use Nani in a swap deal for Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder. United have been linked with the Dutch midfielder for a number of months with reports stating that Sneijder wants a move away from Inter Milan with United an obvious destination.

Sir Alex Ferguson has lashed out at Newcastle United by saying they never gave former boss Sam Allardyce a chance. Ferguson and Allardyce are good friends and the comments come before United’s match against West Ham, Allardyce’s current employers, tomorrow night.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has heaped praised on current number one David De Gea. Schmeichel says the way De Gea has coped with life at United after a very difficult start is admirable suggesting he is proving all of his doubters wrong.
