Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard held a Twitter Q & A yesterday with his fans, but it didn’t stop Manchester United and Everton supporters from getting involved with the hashtag.
Steven Gerrard made his 600th appearance at the weekend against Newcastle, confirming his status as one of Liverpool’s all-time greats. He chose to celebrate by interacting with supporters on Twitter using the #askstevieg hashtag as part of an Adidas promotion.
Unfortunately he couldn’t stop rival fans from chiming in.
Here is a look through some of the more light-hearted Tweets sent to the Liverpool captain by pranksters…
@CLBrosnan93: #AskStevieG What’s it feel like to notice you’re playing with Borini, Shelvey & Downing having once played with Torres, Alonso & Mascherano?
@BlueTintedGaz: #AskStevieG How is it, being an Everton fan playing for Liverpool?
@BCole90: #AskStevieG do you know what a non-Hollywood pass is?
@Evertonarentwe: #AskStevieG Ryan Gigg’s wife divorced him & took half of everything. How do you feel about her having 6 more Premier League medals than you?
@mufcfans: #AskStevieG What does a Premier League Medal look like?
@19att92: #AskStevieG how proud of your fantastic home record this season are you? #fortress
@dominicdolan1: #AskStevieG how smooth is jonjo shelveys head?
@louiesupreme: #AskStevieG Do you wish you would have gone through with your transfer request??
@stupidfootball: #AskStevieG Do you still believe that Joe Cole is better than Messi?”
@swededmonkey: #askstevieg does it annoy you every night going to sleep that Jonathan greening has more premier league medals?
@liam11: #AskStevieG you sorry you started this now ?
The last Tweet probably summed it up. Fortunately Gerrard wasn’t going through them himself, it was a member of staff at Adidas who then relayed the questions. They did eventually find one or two serious questions for him to answer, so we’re told.
