How good is Tottenham Hotspur's NextGen Series star Alex Pritchard?

The blonde bombshell is catching the eye in the competition especially after scoring a double in his last appearance against VfL Wolfsburg. Is there a future for him at White Hart Lane?

Tottenham Hotspur had a brilliant campaign in last season’s NextGen series and were it not for an unfortunate piece of poor admin that saw them field an ineligible player they could have gone on to challenge Inter Milan for the title. As it was they left the competition voluntarily, giving up their space to fellow English side Liverpool instead.

One player who has caught the eye for Tottenham’s youth team has been Alex Pritchard and his performances have been so gleaming we felt he warranted highlighting as a potential Premier League player.

So what do we know about Alex Pritchard?

1. Alex was born in the village of Orsett and grew up in the Essex town of Thurrock.

2. Alex was born on the 3rd May 1993 making him currently 19-years-old.

3. Before joining the youth system at Tottenham the attacking midfielder was on the books of rivals West Ham United.

4. He joined the Academy full-time in June 2009 making his debut for the under-18s aged just 16 in May 2009.

5. He travelled with the first-team squad for a game with PAOK Salonika in Greece however he did not make his debut.

6. In last season’s NextGen campaign he scored four times in seven matches making him the clubs top scorer in the competition ahead of Tomislav Gomelt and Souleymayne Coulibaly who each scored on three occasions.

7. This campaign has seen the talented playmaker score on three occasions, all the goals coming against German outfit VfL Wolfsburg.

8. Considering his Essex routes, set-piece speciality and blonde hair it could be easy to compare him to David Beckham in regards to his talents however he possess far more dribbling ability then Goldenballs ever possessed.

9. He scored an especially special goal in the last round of NextGen Fixtures, curling a delightful free-kick past Wolfsburg keeper Niklas Klinger.

10. In April this year Spurs turned down an offer from QPR for the talented midfield starlet showing a degree of belief in his talents.

Here he is scoring against Inter Milan in a 7-1 thrashing over the eventual champions of last years NextGen competition…
