The 16-year-old only celebrated his birthday last week and now faces off against his former club West Brom in the League Cup tonight as a youthful Liverpool squad including Suso, Samed Yesil, Stephen Sama and Andre Wisdom look to do what Everton could not and qualify for the next round of the League Cup.
Brendan Rodgers looks set to give another opportunity to a young English starlet as Jerome Sinclair looks set to become the clubs youngest ever player during the tie with West Brom tonight. The League Cup match gives an opportunity for the Northern Irishmen to field many of his young talents at the club including Suso, Andre Wisdom and German youngster Stephen Sama but the most eye-catching of all the inclusions is that of Sinclair; who only turned 16 last Thursday.
Interestingly he will face off against his former club as he was at the West Brom academy until last year when Liverpool snapped him up and the exciting youth international will be watched with expectant eyes tonight if he does make an entrance to the League Cup tie.
There has been a lot of Twitter reaction to the news, especially related to the age of the lad….
sam @SamCartmill_ Jerome Sinclair has a game for Liverpool vs Westbrom. I have a school game for King Edwards vs Arden.
Daniel Alister @TheDanAlister I've never heard of Jerome Sinclair in my life and he's travelling with the squad tonight. Same age as me.
Whilst others focused more on his obvious talent and ability, not to mention his physical stature for one so young..
paul cook @cookielfc85 Jerome sinclair in the squad 2night he's defo a goalscorer and he looks like he could handle it physically aswel give him last 20
What do you think about Sinclair’s potential debut and the rest of the youthful look of Liverpool’s League Cup squad?
