Northern Trust Adds To Wealth Management Leadership Team In New York

Northern Trust has announced that Randall S. Burkert has been named Managing Director of Development for the Northeast Region.

Based in New York, Burkert will have direct oversight of new business development in the Northeast, including Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C. Burkert is a member of the Northern Trust's regional Executive Leadership Group.

Before joining Northern Trust, Burkert spent two and a half years as head of Hirtle, Callaghan & Co.'s New York City office, which he helped establish. Prior to that, he spent two decades at Goldman Sachs as a managing director in the Securities Division. Burkert was one of the original members of the Goldman Sachs Trust Company and served on the institutional sales team. He later co-founded and headed the Global Institutional Group.

Burkert began his financial career in public accounting and earned his CPA while working at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Before making his move to financial services, he was an NBA draft choice by the Philadelphia 76ers and played basketball professionally in Argentina.

Burkert earned his bachelor's degree from Drexel University and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Drexel University Board of Trustees and is Chairman of the Dean's Advisory Board at the LeBow College of Business. Burkert also serves on the board of the Abingdon Theatre Company of New York City.
