Barclays Wealth Bolsters Latin American Team

Barclays Wealth has announced the appointments of Isaac Topel, Managing Director, and Andres Cazenave, Director, to the International Private Bank, Latin America.

Both will support the expansion of Barclays Wealth’s Latin America strategy across the high and ultra high net worth client base and be based from Geneva.

Isaac has worked for close to ten years at JP Morgan, most recently as a Senior Banker for the Latin American region’s Swiss private banking team for UHNW clients. Prior to that he worked at BankBoston International Private Bank, PaineWebber and Merrill Lynch International Bank.

Andres, a Senior Banker also joins from the same team at JP Morgan, where he has spent the last four years working along with Isaac in covering some of the bank's most important Geneva based Latin American clients. Previously Andres has worked at UBS AG Wealth Management and HSBC Private Bank.

Both will report into Thomas Roiz, Market Head for Latin America, IPB EMEA, who commented: 'Latin America is an area of particular focus within the International Private Bank and we are making excellent progress in the development of an industry-leading business that meets the needs of high and ultra high net worth individuals in the region'.

Patrick Ramsey, General Manager of Barclays Bank (Suisse) SA, added: 'Isaac and Andres bring with them specific experience of the Latin American region and we are delighted to welcome them to the team'.

Latin America is a significant area of growth for the firm globally, and in order to support the continued expansion of the Latin American strategy Barclays Wealth has also appointed Narciso Muñoz as Investment Representative in the Americas. Narciso joins from HSBC’s International Private Bank division, where he spent over 17 years serving ultra high net worth Latin American families and individuals
