Hall joined Schroders in March 2011 in the position of Head of Manager Selection. In his new capacity as Head of Multi-Manager, Hall will continue to be Head of Manager Selection while taking on additional responsibilities for portfolio management and client service. As a result, Hall will co- manage the three Multi-Manager Funds: Schroders Cautious Managed, Schroders Strategic Balanced and Schroders High Alpha Funds, alongside Fund Manager, Jane Turner, who has been involved in managing the funds since 2005.
Hall joined from Russell Investments with over 23 years’ industry experience and 20 years in manager selection and research. He was a Director of European Equity Portfolio Management and Head of Russell’s UK and European portfolio management team, where he had a total of $10billion under management.
The changes follow the restructuring of Schroders £35bn1 Multi-Asset team in March this year, which saw the Multi-Manager team combined with the Multi-Asset team under the direction of Johanna Kyrklund. The team now consists of 70 investment professionals globally.
Kyrklund, Head of Multi-Asset Investments at Schroders, said: 'Given Rob’s track record in portfolio management and leading a team, we have no doubt he is the ideal candidate to lead our Multi-Manager capability. In his role as Head of Manager Selection, Rob has been researching and selecting managers while working closely with our asset allocation team. Therefore it was a natural progression that he continue this role but also be made Head of Multi-Manager'.
Robin Stoakley, Managing Director, Schroders UK Intermediary Business, said: 'With the introduction of RDR late next year, we believe multi-asset and multi-manager portfolios will become an increasingly important investment option for IFAs. We felt it was essential to appoint a head of Rob's quality and I'm delighted he has taken on the role'.
