Lumby, who will report to Shawn P. Matthews, Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., will work closely with Jarred Kessler, Global Head of Equities, and with Cantor’s Investment Banking team, led by Steven L. Kantor, Executive Managing Director and Global Head of Investment Banking, in creating tailored services for growth‐oriented clients and driving the continuing growth of Cantor’s business.
Lumby, who joined Cantor in 2001, most recently served as a Senior Managing Director with responsibility for the firm’s Controlled Equity Offering℠ (“CEO”) product, Cantor’s at‐the‐market (“ATM”) structure that allows public companies to access the equity capital markets efficiently and cost‐effectively. In addition to continuing to oversee the CEO℠ product, Lumby will be responsible for equity linked origination and execution on behalf of clients.
'Jeff’s expanded role is a testament to his commitment to delivering value for our clients and success in leading our at‐the‐market business. This appointment reflects his proven ability throughout his tenure at Cantor Fitzgerald to provide insights and successfully execute each client’s unique needs and requirements', said Howard W. Lutnick, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P.
'Jeff was the driver in creating Cantor’s preeminent position in the ATM market. His leadership strengths and superior client relationships make him an ideal choice as Head of our Equity Capital Markets team', said Matthews. 'His appointment strengthens nt team and furthers our ability to engage with clients across the full range of their strategic needs'.
Lumby said, 'This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the growth story at Cantor, one of the most successful middle market financial firms in the world. We have built one of the longest track records and clearly the most extensive practice on Wall Street with Cantor’s at‐the‐market offerings. While we continue to focus on growing the ATM platform, I am excited to take on this expanded role and help drive our equity capital markets business forward'.
Through Cantor’s proprietary ATM equity issuance program, Lumby and his team have put over 100 at‐the‐market offerings in place with a value in excess of $14 billion. Lumby was one of the originators in developing at‐the‐market offerings as an attractive alternative to traditional underwritten offerings. Lumby is a graduate of Rutgers University.
In conjunction with Lumby’s appointment, Joshua R. Feldman has been promoted to Managing Director and will continue to focus on Cantor’s CEO product and other capital markets transactions. Feldman has been involved in more than 80 at‐the‐market offerings and has been instrumental in bringing this capital‐raising method to corporate clients. Feldman is a graduate of Columbia University.
