Why Has UBS Bothered To Hire Headhunters To Find New Group CEO ?

Especially when the favourite is already currently sitting in the hot seat minding the store ?

Great fee for the headhunter, of course (surely the bank's stockholders won't mind paying out tens of thousands).

But can UBS really justify paying out all that money when the pool of candidates is relatively small and there's surely someone at the firm who can pick up the phone and reach out to possible candidates just as easily ?

It's a strange world we live in.
