Barclays Wealth has announced a further senior appointment to its expanding ultra high net worth (UHNW) team in the MENA region. Henry Hall, CFA joins as Managing Director and will be reporting to Stefanie Drews, Head of UHNW and Family Offices, UK & EMEA and Rory Gilbert, Head of Middle East and North Africa for International Private Banking.
Hall brings more than 20 years of experience in the banking sector to Barclays Wealth, having working with high net worth (HNW) and UHNW clients across the MENA region.
Commenting on the appointment, Rory Gilbert, Head of International Private Banking – MENA, said: 'Our priority has been to expand our team of private bankers in order to solidify our position as a top-tier global wealth manager. Henry’s appointment adds significant experience to our client-facing team and our ability to offer innovative solutions to our UHNW client base'.
Stefanie Drews added: 'The UHNW proposition provides a complete, broad and superior service to individuals and family offices, regardless of the type of service, size, geography, or complexity of request. Someone of Henry's background and calibre will be able to provide clients the access to the resources of the whole Barclays group enabling them to benefit from the full spectrum of financial services including private, corporate and investment banking'.
Prior to his position at Barclays Wealth, Hall was Managing Director, Head of EMEA Emerging Markets Equities at Merrill Lynch, London. Henry has held senior positions with major financial institutions such as Credit Suisse in the UK, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank in the UAE and JP Morgan in the USA. He also practiced law with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Hong Kong.
Hall graduated in Finance and Economics from the University of Alabama and holds a Juris Doctorate from the Harvard Law School. Additionally, Henry is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
