Lazard Middle Market Hires Managing Director To Head Financial Institutions Group

NEW YORK – Lazard Middle Market, a subsidiary of Lazard Ltd (NYSE: LAZ), has announced that Nicholas J. Sheumack has joined the firm as a Managing Director and head of Lazard Middle Market’s Financial Institutions Group. He is based in New York.

'Nick brings extensive and diversified experience providing strategic, financial and capital markets
advice to public and private companies in both the depository and non-depository sectors of the financial services industry', said Michael McFadden, co-CEO of Lazard Middle Market.

'Nick has established a reputation in the financial institutions sector, having advisedon many of the most notable middle market transactions in the sector in recent years and in designing and implementing growth plans and achieving capital structure goals', added Lazard Middle Market’s co-CEO David Solomon.

Sheumack’s clients include banks, asset and wealth management firms, securities broker-dealers,
investment banks, exchanges, insurance companies, real estate investment trusts, business development companies, specialty finance, and financial technology firms.

Prior to joining Lazard, Sheumack held senior positions at investment banks specializing in the
financial sector. He was a Partner at Sandler O’Neill + Partners, LP where he oversaw the Diversified
Finance investment banking effort and was a Managing Director at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods for over a
decade. While at KBW, he was active in client management and new business origination, founded, built and led the Diversified Finance Coverage Group, as well as the Financial Sponsor Advisory Group.
