Aberdeen Appoints Head of Business Development - Property

Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed Roberto Varandas as Head of Business Development - Property.

This newly created role is aimed to keep pace with the increased complexity and diversity of Aberdeen’s global client base. Varandas and his four strong team will work closely with the Group’s generalist Business Development and wider Distribution teams in delivery of the Aberdeen’s property capability to its worldwide client base. He will start his new role in September.

Varandas joins from UBS Global Asset Management’s Global Real Estate (GRE) business where he was Head of Business Development for Continental Europe (excluding Switzerland and Germany). Prior to joining UBS, he was a Vice President at Capital & Marketing (2004-2007), responsible for fund raising in Southern and Eastern Europe.

Aberdeen is an established manager of property products and manages over £20 billion of assets.
