Bank of America Merrill Lynch has announced that Fabrizio Gallo is joining the company from Brevan Howard Asset Management as co-head of Global Equities and EMEA Global Markets.

He will come aboard in late summer, and report to Tom Montag, president of Global Banking and Markets.

Gallo joins Mike Stewart as co-head of Global Equities, with joint responsibility for all aspects of the company’s equity sales and trading businesses worldwide. He will be based in London. In addition, Gallo will become co-head of EMEA Global Markets alongside David Gu, head of Global Rates and Currencies, providing seamless leadership across all asset classes within our EMEA sales and trading business. He will join the company’s Global Markets executive committee and the Europe executive committee.

'Fabrizio brings deep and broad trading experience across all equity asset classes and will be a valuable addition to our leadership team', said Montag. 'Working in close partnership with Mike, David and the rest of our senior management team, Fabrizio will help accelerate the development of our platform throughout Europe and the rest of the world'.

Gallo served as a partner and head of Equities at Brevan Howard since 2009. Before that, he was head of Global Equities and Global Proprietary Trading at Morgan Stanley, where he spent 15 years at that company in a variety of equity and equity derivative trading leadership positions in New York, London and Hong Kong. A spokesman for Brevan Howard stated that Brevan Howard looks forward to continuing to work with Fabrizio in his new role.
