About the author

Lara Morgan is the founder and former CEO of Pacific Direct. Basically a ‘world-class saleswoman’ with a massive belief in herself and her company, she revolutionized the hotel amenities market, bringing together some of the most famous brands in the world, such as Bulgari, Aveda, The White Company and Penhaligon's. Born in Germany, she left school after ‘A’ Levels when her father went bankrupt. She lived and worked in Hong Kong, the Gulf and New Zealand before moving to the UK and setting up her company in 1991.

She is a founder member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organisation, now EO, was a finalist in the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year Award, and has also been a three times finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. She was famous for taking her entire company on holiday to Barbados to celebrate their success. Lara is now focusing her passion on Company Shortcut, an online platform for entrepreneurs to access unique time-saving check-lists and business performance measurement systems to increase their effectiveness and accelerate growth.
