Barclays Wealth has announced the addition of five new bankers to its International Private Banking division, based in Geneva.
All five join from the Geneva office of Lloyds TSB International Private Banking and will be part of the International Private Bank, EMEA, ultimately reporting into Patrick Ramsey, General Manager of Barclays Bank (Suisse) SA and Soha Nashaat, Global Market Leader for MENA.
EMEA is a key growth region for Barclays Wealth and it has identified Geneva as one of its key hubs for servicing global high net worth clients as part of its investment programme.
Commenting on the appointment, Patrick Ramsey said: 'These new hires are further evidence of our ambitions for our Swiss international platform. The talent we have been able to attract across Barclays Wealth and will continue to attract is evidence of the aspirations we have to grow and enhance our proposition and we are delighted to welcome these high quality individuals to the firm'.
Emmanuel Fievet, Head of International Private Banking at Barclays Wealth, added: 'One third of our investment spend has been committed to attracting the industry's best talent. We have successfully hired over 100 bankers so far this year and are ahead of plan in terms of recruitment. However, we will continue selectively to hire people who can best service our global high net worth clients, thereby ensuring our commitment to build long-term advice-led relationships with our clients, who remain at the forefront of everything we do'.
