Mash, who joins the firm in early July, will be based in New York and will report to Gary Posternack, Head of M&A, Americas. He will work closely with Andrew Taussig, Vice Chairman and Head of Global Retail Investment Banking. Mash will help drive and expand Barclays Capital’s leadership in the sector, which is underscored by the firm’s distinction as a consistently top-ranked M&A adviser on Retail transactions in the Americas over the last five years.

Mash brings more than 15 years of investment banking experience and has focused on the Retail sector for the majority of his career. He most recently worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Retail M&A. During his 12 year career at the firm, he advised on more than 30 Retail transactions, with an aggregate value of over $30 billion.
He has advised some of the most important companies in Retail, including Limited Brands, Autozone, Macy’s and Ascena Retail (formerly Dressbarn) among many others. Mash is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and began his career at UBS.
