'Vicious Places, These Banks'

Vicious Dog

The London Evening Standard's 'City Spy' column runs an interesting item Wednesday:

'Ken Costa hadn't even left the building before the spinners were at work muddying his image. The abrupt departure of the City's best-known Christian from Lazard followed quickly on from a similar move by Naguib Kheraj, the former Barclays and Cazenove man.

Objecting to a description in these pages of Costa as one of the bank's 'biggest dealmakers', the PR men, who may or may not be closely connected to the bank, insist - off the record of course - that he wasn't really that important.

Not a big dealmaker at all. Miss him ? Puh. We'd forgotten he was even here. Vicious places, these banks...'
