Five things I know about style: Jo Wood

Five things I know about style: Jo Wood I never tire of 60s and 70s style. As a teenager I fell in love with Twiggy. I loved her and wanted to be like her so much. I also loved Bridget Bardot: dark eyes, big lips, backcombed hair.

2. Vintage clothes are my weakness. I loved Biba and Ossie Clark when I was growing up, but I couldn't afford them. Now I buy them whenever I can.

3. Confidence in oneself is key to style. If you feel good, you can carry anything off. I'm comfortable with the way I look, but I'm always moaning about wanting to be slimmer. I exercise, but I enjoy my food.

4. Every woman should have a little black dress and a pair of skyscraper heels in her wardrobe. Put them on with a pair of black tights and you can go anywhere. I'm a bit of a scruff at home. I live in the country so I'm in sweatpants, T-shirts and boots a lot.

5. My most treasured piece of clothing is a dress I bought years ago while on tour in the US with the Rolling Stones. I went into a vintage shop in the middle of nowhere and I found this black dress with diamant√© all over it. It doesn't fit me any more, but I'd never get rid of it.

Jo Wood is supporting the UK's first Climate Week (21-27 March 2011);
