Last week, Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit took his first trip back to his native India since he took the helm at the company in late 2007.
And The Wall Street Journal's Heard On The Street column reports that, speaking to a group of Indian students, Pandit likened his company to a 'candy store'.
'Being at Citi reminds me of being in a candy store', he said, 'We have everything, so whatever you want, we can offer it to you'. Hmmm. Wasn't it trying to be all things to all men the very thing that got Citi in bother in the first place ?
Finally, Bloomberg reports that Gary Lynch, Morgan Stanley's Chief Legal Officer for 5 years until 2010, is to leave the firm to pursue outside opportunities.
