Jefferies Adds Head Of Investment Banking In Germany

FRANKFURT, LONDON and NEW YORK, 5 October 2010 – Jefferies announced today that Roland Sand has joined as a Managing Director and Head of Germany Investment Banking.

Mr. Sand will be based in the firm’s Frankfurt office, which provides a full range of investment banking, capital markets and sales and trading services to corporate and institutional clients through its 20 professionals.

“As we significantly build out our country coverage in Germany, we are delighted to have a banker with the leadership experience and depth of relationships with German clients that Roland Sand brings to us,” commented Benjamin D. Lorello, Global Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets at Jefferies.

“Roland brings to Jefferies more than 25 years of international investment banking experience, which coupled with his longstanding senior relationships, makes him an important addition to Jefferies as we continue to expand in continental Europe,” added David Weaver, President of Jefferies International.

Mr. Sand joins the firm from Credit Suisse, where he spent five years and was most recently a Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Banking for Germany and Austria. Previously, he was a Managing Director in Investment Banking at JP Morgan in Frankfurt and London for three years, where he focused on TMT and privatizations. Prior to that, Mr. Sand spent 16 years at Deutsche Bank in investment banking and commercial banking roles, initially in Germany and then in Singapore and Hong Kong, where he was Head of TMT Investment Banking for Asia Pacific.
