Jefferies Appoints Head Of Distressed Trading

Peter Santry Joins the Firm’s Distressed and Special Situations Team

Jefferies has announced the appointment of Peter T. Santry as a Managing Director and Head of Distressed Trading in the firm’s Leveraged Finance Sales and Trading Division. In this new role, Mr. Santry will manage the firm’s distressed and special situations trading effort, which includes the sales and trading of distressed corporate bonds, leveraged loans, special situations and other distressed securities.

Jefferies’ global leveraged finance sales and trading business is comprised of nearly 100 professionals focused on the sales, trading and research of high yield, leveraged loans, distressed securities and related securities.

Mr. Santry joins Jefferies from Chapdelaine & Company, where he was Head of Leveraged Products and built a high yield, bank loan and distressed debt trading business. Previously, he spent fourteen years at Banc of America Securities, where he was most recently a Managing Director and Head of the Global Special Situations Group. Prior to that, he spent eleven years with Bankers Trust in a variety of credit and distressed trading roles. He received a BA from Williams College.
