The second annual Square Mile Sports Awards were held on Wednesday night, and 10K of you voted for your favourite sporting heroes of the past 12 months. Want to know who won?
There were five categories considered: ICAP Sportsperson of the Year, O2 Sports Team of the Year, MF Global Spreads Leader of the Year, Sky Alive Young Sportsperson of the Year, and the Land Rover Toughest Sportsperson of the Year. Also awarded was the Opus Outstanding Contribution to British sport.
The shortlist of nominees was selected by the judges, who included Awards Chairman, Rugby champ and former HSBC employee, Will Greenwood, Olympic Rower James Cracknell, Britain’s top Open Era tennis player Tim Henman, former England cricket member Darren Gough, Ryder Cup Captain Sam Torrence, and Triple Jump World Record Holder Jonathan Edwards.
The winners, selected by Square Mile voters, were:
