"Anthem" players plan four day boycott over loot drop changes

Anthem EA 10

Fans of EA's Anthem is proposing a boycott to force BioWare into letting the community once again "taste the lootshower".

EA and BioWare’s Anthem has been a mess since it launched. Forget that it’s mind-numbingly boring, the title caused a huge fuss recently with PS4 players reporting that their consoles were supposedly “bricked”, requiring a user on Reddit to explain how to fix the widespread issue. Since then, another dilemma has risen with actual fans of the game planning a four day boycott “to revert loot drop changes”.

The Anthem boycott thread on the game’s official subreddit calls for players to “stop playing from 03/11/2019 - 03/15/2019 to make a point.” Anthem’s latest update to loot distribution and drop rates appears to be the main issue, with the OP noting that “Time invested Vs. Reward is a complete joke”, and that BioWare should bring back the bug so users can "taste the lootshower".

Anthem is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but it’s not worth the hassle as it’s little more than a disappointment which shows why you shouldn’t trust or be too excited about E3 demos. With BioWare assuring fans that they are safe from EA’s axe, hopefully they can one day move on and recapture what made them so renowned and special.
