Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has told the club’s official website that Loris Karius will come back from his injury and do very well for the Reds.

Karius is one of seven new signings to arrive at Anfield this summer as Jurgen Klopp overhauled his squad.

He has been brought in to add competition to current first-choice Simon Mignolet, who once again struggled for his best form last season.

It has not been a happy start to life on Merseyside for the German keeper’ though, with him breaking his hand in a pre-season game and missing the start of the season as a result.

He is currently on the road to recovery and Can has backed him to bounce back and impress for the club.

“I know Loris from the national team, he is a very good goalkeeper,” he told the club’s official website.

“The standard in Germany is very high and in the last two or three years, he made very big steps in his career. He has been a little bit unlucky with the injury, of course, but he will come back and do very well.”

When Karius does make his return from this injury it will be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp hands him an immediate place in the Liverpool first team.

Reds fans were certainly hoping to see him come in as their new number one this season having grown disillusioned with Mignolet during his time at the club.

Klopp showed faith in the Belgian by handing him a new long-term deal earlier this year though and it remains to be seen which player he opts for when both are available.
