Pep Guardiola of Manchester City is being linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane at the moment.
Kane gave an explosive interview to Gary Neville in midweek and it seems like there’s a strong chance that the 27-year-old marksman will be leaving Spurs during the summer, with City among the clubs reportedly keen on signing him.
But there’s another Tottenham player who Guardiola singled out for praise this evening.
An emotional Guardiola was speaking to Sky Sports after the Sky Blues lifted their third Premier League title in four years.
The former Barcelona couldn’t fight back the tears when he was asked about Sergio Aguero, who is leaving Eastlands after a goal-laden decade with the Etihad Stadium club.
Guardiola also name-checked Tottenham goalkeeper Joe Hart when speaking about players who have made City what they are today.
The North Londoners signed Hart on a Bosman last summer but the 34-year-old was previously a big player on the blue half of Manchester, winning the club’s first two league titles under Roberto Mancini and later Manuel Pellegrini.
Guardiola said: “There are many [big] players this club [have had to replace]: Joe Hart, David Silva who have made this club what it is.”
Hart has had to endure a bit-part role with the Lilywhites this season and didn’t play in any of their 38 Premier League games.
