Arsene Wenger has been at Arsenal for more than 20 years.
Former Gunners star Emmanuel Petit was a guest on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM programme this morning, and offered his opinion on who should take over from Arsene Wenger, when the Frenchman eventually leaves the club.

Wenger has come in for heavy criticism in recent weeks, after his Arsenal side suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, with many fans and pundits believing that their title challenge is already over.
And Petit, who made 119 appearances for Arsenal, told Soccer AM the manager who he believes would be the ideal candidate for his former club, should Wenger decide that the time has come for him to leave:

“If Arsene leaves, Simeone from Atletico Madrid. He’s got huge experience, and what he has done with Atletico for the last five years is amazing. He’s got the discipline and vision of the way he wants his players to play on the pitch, with high intensity. I think that could be something very good for Arsenal.”

The Argentine has proved his quality during his time with the La Liga side, by assembling a squad who have consistently managed to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona, despite their far inferior spending power.

He would certainly bring a more intense style to the Arsenal side.
And maybe a fresh approach is exactly what the Gunners need in their quest to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
