Leeds United have another talented young Amissah on their books.

For those Leeds United fans who keep a close eye on the under-23s, the emergence of 16-year-old striker Samuel Amissah is likely to be generating plenty of excitement.

After all, the first-year scholar has already moved from the under-18s to the second string and he scored a wonder-goal after coming off the bench against Bolton Wanderers before starting the next match against Millwall.

But the striker is not the only Amissah trying to make a name for himself at Elland Road, with Samuel’s brother Emmanuel also on the club’s books.

Leeds are famous for giving youth a chance and their squads both this season and last reflected that, with the likes of Lewis Cook, Sam Byram, Charlie Taylor, Alex Mowatt and Ronaldo Vieira all getting chances in recent times.

Samuel Amissah is still some way from making that step up but his younger brother Emmanuel – who is only 13 – will be hoping to one day follow in his sibling’s footsteps.

The same could be said of Romario Vieira, the brother of Ronaldo who recently signed a deal at Elland Road, while twins Paul and Jack McKay are also plying their trade in the under-23s.

It is becoming something of a family affair at Leeds, but unlike at many clubs where teenagers rarely get the chance to shine, the Championship side could benefit from nurturing young talent for many years to come.
