Hugo Lloris has left Tottenham Hotspur after 11 years of service to the club.

The 37-year-old played under the likes of Andres Villas-Boas and Mauricio Pochettino, to name a few, whilst also watching the likes of Gareth Bale and Harry Kane work their goalscoring magic.

But it was pretty clear from last season that the World Cup-winning goalkeeper needed to depart and that time has now come.

Tottenham announced on Twitter that Hugo Lloris has left the club and joined MLS side Los Angeles, as he begins the final chapter of his career.

Ex-Premier League striker Emmanuel Adebayor reacted to that news via his Instagram story by simply calling Hugo Lloris a ‘legend’.

Whilst Ivan Perisic, who is currently out with a long-term injury at Hotspur Way, wrote on his Instagram story ‘My guy, for sure. Good luck on your new adventure.’

As Spurs recorded a 3-1 win over in-form Bournemouth on Sunday, the recently-retired France international was introduced onto the pitch at half-time.

As you would imagine, he got a very good reception, and rightly so, given how well he has performed for the club over the years.

Tottenham are in safe hands with Guglielmo Vicario

In the summer, Spurs didn’t waste any time in bringing in a new goalkeeper, even though Lloris was still on their books.

The little unknown Guglielmo Vicario was brought in for £16.4 million, and it’s fair to say, that he has surprised many with his performances.

It wasn’t so long ago that Ange Postecoglou’s side were sitting top of the Premier League table and Vicario was a key reason behind that strong start.

And as Spurs try to close the gap on the Champions League places again, Vicario is still proving to be a crucial player for the team.
