Arsenal star Emiliano Martinez has taken to social media to claim that Arsenal were ‘unlucky’ not to win their European encounter away to Vitoria last night.

Martinez, who is the established number two goalkeeper at the Emirates behind Bernd Leno, was starting his sixth match of the season in Portugal. He’s featured in all of Arsenal’s European and cup matches so far this term.

The 27-year-old made a number of good saves throughout the 90 minutes, which looked to have helped the Gunners pick up three points on the night.

However, an injury-time goal for the hosts cancelled out Shkodran Mustafi opening effort, with the match finishing 1-1.

Martinez’s claim that Arsenal were unlucky doesn’t really ring true, despite conceding late. Unai Emery’s outfit could only muster one shot on target throughout the entire game (BBC). Not really the mark of a winning performance.

Although Arsenal are still well on course to progress into the knockout stages, fans weren’t exactly happy with the team’s display.
